Oakley’s RADAR

The new Oakley Radar is RAD! I never thought that I would be saying I love wearing large funky shaped glasses such as these but for sport specific activities they are amazing. I have been riding my Radar’s about two months now and continue to be amazed. The hydrophobic lenses really help with shedding water and sweat which are key for me when riding. There is nothing worse then glasses that fog, spot, and collect moisture which then turns into mud from dust and dirt on trails.

Hydrophobic™
Oakley Hydrophobic™ is a permanent lens coating that prevents water from leaving streaks and sheens, which can compromise vision. Whether it’s rain, sweat or splashing runoff, H2O can’t get a foothold. And that’s just half the story.

I brought my bike on vacation

On Saturday morning I did a 20 mile road ride in Palm Desert. Since Carter was up at 6:45 am, I was on the road by 7:00 am and it was only 90 degress with a nice breeze. Riding in new locations is so much fun. It breaks up the “regular” and brings in the “special”. I wouldn’t say I pushed myself super hard but it was a healthy leg spin. I road past a cycling crew in down town and they gave me a thumbs up. Nice people make being outside that much more fun.

On the way back to the hotel I stopped by Starbuck’s and drank my standard tall, non-fat easy whip Mocha while returning a few emails on the Blackberry. I grabbed Julie a grande carmel frap and placed it in my water bottle holder. Fit perfectly! Turns out that Starbuck’s is 5 miles from the hotel so her frap was a bit more watery than she would have liked. One sip and it was in the trash!

Do you buy it or build it?

Dave and I have an ongoing battle. Dave is in the build it camp. He builds his bikes from scratch and is constantly working on them. Frankly, he is a little ADD/neurotic with it. I prefer to buy my bikes already built and ready to go. I don’t have the time to fidget and fuss with parts and components like him and I feel like I can ride almost any bike where as Dave is much more picky. In the last 8 months Dave has purchased 5 bikes. It feels like build it guys are always buying new and better and buy is guys are more content with our one time large purchases.

Which camp are you in? Do you build it or buy it?

Jeremy Lusk Memorial Ride…

I love this story.

By now, many are probably asking what this ride is that I’m planning on doing March 6th – March 8th. Long story short, I’ve been fortunate enough to be working with a company in an industry I enjoy very much….the Action Sports industry. One that equally mixes lifestyle, culture, and corporate into a single environment. Currently, that company is Osiris Shoes.

I hope it all goes well. You’re the man Jeffrey.
