Wii Had so Much Fun!

I have heard a lot about all the new video games out and never really cared for them until last night. Andy, our buddy Brian (BMOE) and I spent the night up in Arrowhead last night so that we could skip work and hit the local ski resorts for a little fun. However, the evenings party was almost more fun than shreddin’ in the snow. I was introduced to the Wii (pronounced WE).

This video game is hilarious. I would never sit at home and play it alone but to have a few drinks and sit around with friends and have a tennis tournament, baseball game, or bowling match is awesome! I have never seen three grown men battling it out over a virtual game while working up a little sweat (Andy needs to stop running the cabins heater at 90 degrees).

At this point I opened the front door to cool the place down so that Andy would put his pants back on… It didn’t happen. He has loved sharing his business since high school.

Look at that amazing form.

If it’s too horrible to get outside find some friends and hold a Wii tourney.

Driving home from Big Bear

Dave, Brian and I are driving home from a rippin day on the slopes. We got our feet wet at Snow Summit and ventured over to Bear Mountain to ride with the big boys. You have never heard 3 old men complain more about being old than today. Not to mention Dave had the all time worst gas ever. Made for an interesting experience.

More to come when I get home.

Burton “Poachers” Contest

The concept is brillant. Burton is giving $5,000 to the person or crew that submits the best video documentation of their poach on a non-snowboarding resort.

The local resorts are open

In case you were wondering, the following resorts are now open in Southern California:

Mountain High
Snow Summit
Snow Valley
Bear Mountain

I would see you up there but only rich people like Brian and Dean get to snowboard.

Mt. High season passes

If you are considering a pass to your local ski resort now is the time to think about picking it up. Historically, passes go on sale in the summer and go off sale by October 1. Many resorts actually offer a limited number of sale passes so the sooner you get it the better.

Mt High is offering their pre-season sale right now.

Please let it get cold soon!

I love everything Patagonia, part 3

Tonight’s post is about the
Patagonia Lightweight R4 Jacket

This is a product I had been eyeballing all winter until one day down in Encinitas on vacation Julie finally let me make the purchase. I have found this fleece to be almost perfect in everyway. Last winter it was worn over 70 times including multiple trips to Colorado and Alabama for work. That means hours of keeping me cozy in airports and on planes. I can think of 3 times that I spilled Starbucks on my sleeve and each time I wiped it off without a problem. If I am going to spend that much on a fleece I want to know that the product is going to hold up and with Patagonia’s life time repair/return policy you can’t go wrong. I am a fleece ho.

Backcountry.com offers free shipping on this product along with a $20.00 discount off what I paid. Click the banner’s below for more info.

Back to our old school roots. Represent the BBM.

For those of you that don’t know Dave and I have some pretty deep roots into the world of snowboarding. Dave, BMO and I used to call ourselves the BBM or Big Bear Mafia, mang! We pretty much ran the streets of Big Bear. The BLVD, Moonridge, Switzerland Dr, these were all our stomping grounds and people moved out of the way when we came down the street. In honor of these roots I frequently like to check out the latest snow gear and stumbled upon ProBoardShop.com. From my research on the site they carry the best brands and have some of the most reasonable pricing that I have seen in a while, especially if you are in the market for a last’s year’s snow deck (Dean).

After years of large credit card debts in winter, I finally figured out when the best time to buy base layer products are, for when the temperatures begin to drop again… It’s now! All the affiliate retailers we are working with have great deals in the warm months, Summer, on all those fancy material base layer warming products that you wanted, had , or ruined during the colder months.
